Sr. Buyer - $60K Benefits - Direct Hire

My client is a well established manufacturer of electronic devices and is recognized globally in many industries. They have a current need for a Full Time Permanent need for Sr. Buyer.

Responsibilities:
• Procurement of materials and services that conform to requirements of drawings / specifications, quality, delivery date and customer requirements.
• Identifies raw material items for cost reduction opportunities that includes supplier change for parts in distribution, drawing / specification changes that results in a lower cost manufacturing process or developing alternate lower cost supplier.
• Develop existing as well as identifying new suppliers for the purpose of ensuring a continual supply of materials.
• Develop, measure, report and administer programs to reduce lead times.
• Participate in the management of the Supplier Rating System.
• Responsible for supplier contact, working with the Purchasing Assistant and rapid priority management reports to pull in or push out delivery dates due to MRP output changes.
• Negotiate better freight terms, purchase price, payment terms, and increased vendor inventory, all for the purpose of reducing operational costs.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business, technical field or equivalent.
• 5 + years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in BSD, MRP, ISO 9100, AS9000, ATEX and electronics
environment required.
• Strong analytical, PC, communication, and negotiation skills required and
possessing or pursuing C.P.M.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, able to read / interpret a wide range of drawings and possess direct buying experience in a broad range of commodities.
